Beyond single buildings

Heritage district candidates

A heritage conservation district (Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act) protects a whole area at once. These are the tightest clusters of listed buildings that lose protection on January 1, 2027: 61 areas holding 1,598 at-risk buildings. Each could be the start of a request for a district study.

Clusters of at least 15 at-risk listed buildings, each within 45 m of the next; a starting point for local knowledge, not an evaluation. A candidate next to an existing district may suit an extension. Updated weekly.
